How Does SpotShare Work?

REQUESTS:

If you need a spot, you go to the request page and enter the beginning and ending days/times.
If there is a spot available, you will be matched up immediately.  You will print out a ticket, which shows the spot number, days/times, and other info.

If there is not a spot available, SpotShare will search the database for people who have not yet donated their spot during that time.  It will then send an email to those people asking for their donation.
If they donate enough time to cover the unmatched request, the requestor will get an email notifying him that the spot is reserved for him, if he responds within a certain time.

DONATIONS:

If your spot will be available for others to use, then simply go to the donation page and enter in the beginning and ending days and times that you would like to donate your spot.

If you choose, you can be notified when your donation is matched with a request.

The more you donate, the higher priority your requests are given, and the further in advance you can request spots.

MATCHING REQUESTS AND DONATIONS:

SpotShare intelligently matches requests and donations so that multiple requests are frequently satisfied by one donation.  All of this is done in real time.

OTHER FEATURES:

There are many other features, designed to make it easy to donate and use spaces.

For example, there is a "Weekly Donation" option for people who have a regular schedule, and would like to easily (and possibly automatically) donate their spot every week.  This is also a great timesaver for spots that are 100% donated to SpotShare.
